How much does it cost to build a SaaS dashboard?

A focused dashboard for one type of user and one main job runs $3,500 to $5,500 over about 3 to 4 weeks. Customer accounts, roles, and a couple of integrations move it to $6,500 to $9,000. These are estimates from my scope estimator, not quotes.

Cost ranges (estimates)

  • Focused dashboard$3,500 to $5,500About 3 to 4 weeks

One user type with sign-in and one core workflow. No AI, no outside integrations.

  • Roles and integrations$6,500 to $9,000About 4 to 5 weeks

Separate accounts, several roles, two or three workflows, one or two integrations.

  • Larger or sensitiveScope firstMore than one sprint

Regulated data, several systems, or web plus mobile. Scoped sprint by sprint.

Prices are USD estimates, not quotes. They come from the bands in my MVP Scope Estimator and the offers on /hire. A short written scope sets the fixed price.

What these ranges assume

  • A web app. The focused case has no AI.
  • The focused case has no outside services.
  • Second case: separate accounts, an admin role.
  • Second case: one data or payments integration.
  • Standard business data; regulated is case three.
  • Built by me alone, at a fixed price in writing.
  • Hosting and data fees on your own accounts.

What drives the cost

Pushes it up
  • Many customer accounts with data kept apart
  • Several roles: viewer, editor, approver, admin
  • Several data sources or one custom API
  • Four or more workflows, such as alerts, exports
  • Live updates, background jobs, big data volumes
  • Regulated data, or a mobile app alongside
Keeps it down
  • One user type and one core question
  • Data from one place, or entered by hand
  • Charts and tables only, no exports
  • An internal tool or private beta first
  • A Figma file or a list of the exact charts
  • Alerts and scheduled reports left for later

How long it takes

  • Focused dashboard: about 3 to 4 weeks.
  • With roles and integrations: about 4 to 5 weeks.
  • Larger dashboards: sprints set in the scope.
  • A written update daily, a live link in week one.

Freelancer, agency, or no-code

I have no sourced market averages for these, so I describe fit and risks instead of quoting prices I cannot back up.

  • Freelancer (me)

Good fitOne person, a fixed price, daily written updates, and the code in your name.

Watch forLarger work is split into sprints. Native mobile and regulated work like HIPAA are out.

  • Agency

Good fitSeveral specialists at once: design, backend, and mobile on one timeline.

Watch forRates and process differ by firm. Ask for a fixed scope, the team, and code ownership.

  • No-code or AI app builder

Good fitStandard patterns and fast prototypes, for the cost of a platform subscription.

Watch forExport and ownership limits vary by platform. A broken AI-built app: FixedLaunch from $149.

For dashboards, check whether a BI tool over your existing database answers the question before you build anything.

Questions

How much does a SaaS dashboard cost?

A focused dashboard for one user type, one workflow and no outside integrations runs $3,500 to $5,500 over about 3 to 4 weeks. With customer accounts, roles and one or two integrations it reads as $6,500 to $9,000 over about 4 to 5 weeks. Both are estimates, not quotes.

What moves it to the higher range?

In the scope estimator, one or two integrations move the work to the $6,500 to $9,000 tier on their own. Separate customer accounts, several roles, and more than one workflow reach the same tier once their combined score passes the small band.

What is in a Launch Sprint?

Up to 3 core user flows, sign-in, a database, payments or one integration, analytics, and deployment on your own accounts. You also get the code in a repository in your name, a recorded walkthrough, and 14 days of bug fixes after launch.

When does it need more than one sprint?

When it handles sensitive or regulated data, depends on several or custom integrations, spans more than one surface such as web plus mobile, or needs high volume and reliability from day one. The written scope then splits it into sprints with a fixed price each.

Can I start smaller?

Yes. Scope & Prototype is $500: a written scope, a fixed price, and a first prototype. It is credited to the build if you go ahead within 30 days.

Is this page a quote?

No. It is a range from the same rules the scope estimator uses. A short written scope sets the fixed price, and you get one within 48 hours of sending a brief.
