How much does it cost to build a booking app?
A booking app with customers, an admin, online payment and reminders reads as $6,500 to $9,000 over about 4 to 5 weeks in my scope estimator. A simpler version, where customers request a slot and you confirm it yourself, runs $3,500 to $5,500. These are estimates, not quotes.
Cost ranges (estimates)

Several outside systems or a custom integration. Scoped and priced sprint by sprint.
Prices are USD estimates, not quotes. They come from the bands in my MVP Scope Estimator and the offers on /hire. A short written scope sets the fixed price.
What these ranges assume
- A web app that works on phones, not native mobile.
- Two roles: the customer and you as admin.
- Two or three workflows, like book, pay, cancel.
- Payment plus one calendar or reminder service.
- Reminders sent on a schedule in the background.
- A public launch, built by me alone.
- Hosting and payment fees on your own accounts.
What drives the cost
- Staff with their own calendars and permissions
- Several locations, services, or price rules
- Sync with more than one outside calendar or tool
- Deposits, refunds, and no-show fees in the app
- Native iOS and Android apps
- Health records or other regulated client data
- One location and one list of services
- Requests you confirm yourself at first
- Payment taken in person until demand is proven
- Email reminders before text messages
- One calendar to sync with, or none
- Packages and memberships left for sprint two
How long it takes
- Request and confirm: about 3 to 4 weeks.
- With payment and reminders: about 4 to 5 weeks.
- Several locations or systems: sprints in the scope.
- A written update daily, a live link in week one.

I have no sourced market averages for these, so I describe fit and risks instead of quoting prices I cannot back up.
For booking, check whether an off-the-shelf scheduling tool covers your rules before paying for a custom build.

Questions
How much does a booking app cost?
With customer accounts, an admin, online payment and reminders, my scope estimator reads $6,500 to $9,000 over about 4 to 5 weeks. A version where customers send a request and you confirm it by hand, with no outside services, runs $3,500 to $5,500 over about 3 to 4 weeks.
Why do payment and reminders cost more?
In the scope estimator, one or two outside services, like a payment provider and a calendar or text-message service, move the work to the $6,500 to $9,000 tier on their own. Each needs set-up, failure handling, and testing against the real service.
Can you build the mobile app too?
Not as native iOS or Android apps: those are outside my Launch Sprint terms. The booking app is a web app built to work well on a phone, which is how most customers will open a booking link.
When does it need more than one sprint?
When it syncs with several outside systems or needs a custom integration, handles regulated client data, or spans more than one product surface. The written scope then splits it into sprints, each with a fixed price.
Do payment and text fees come on top?
Yes. Payment and messaging providers bill their fees to your own accounts. The build price covers the work of building and launching the app.
Is this page a quote?
No. It is a range from the same rules the scope estimator uses. A short written scope sets the fixed price, and you get one within 48 hours of sending a brief.
